Hawke’s Bay’s oldest boutique winery
Handcrafting small parcels of expressive varietal wines
Brookfields Vineyards was founded in 1937, hence it is the oldest boutique winery in Hawkes Bay.
Most of our grapes are grown at Ohiti Estate which is just on the other side of the Ngaruroro River to the Gimblett Gravels – it is a heat trap. All the red varieties grow in stones/gravel, while the white varieties prefer the silty loam soil.
The winery was built by the founding family, the concrete blocks were all hand made on site. The home vineyard is totally planted in Chardonnay. Brookfields specialises in making small parcels of hand crafted varietal wines which express the terroir where they were grown.
