Caring for the vineyard and the environment
A philosophy of sustainability and premium quality wine.
Carrick is an integrated organic vineyard, winery, restaurant and cellar door in Bannockburn Central Otago. Known for their quality premium Pinot Noir, Carrick also grows and makes Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc; wines noted for their fruit expression and clarity.
Francis Hutt, the general-manager of Carrick, the viticulturist, the winemaker and the chef bring understanding and experience to making fine wine and food. This pride is reflected in the care of the vineyard and environment – Carrick has a flock of hens, mob of sheep, a giant compost heap and a community garden, all part of the Carrick philosophy.
The Carrick Bend, a nautical knot, is the symbol that embodies the Carrick philosophy of grape growing and wine making. The tying of the knot signifies the bringing together of our viticulture, our winemaking and “our place” which includes Carrick vineyards with the historic and geographic icons of the neighbourhood – the Carrick mountain range, the Carrick Riding and the Carrick Goldfields.
