A landscape befitting spectacular wine
Central Otago holds a beauty unmatched anywhere else in the world.
The story of Rockburn began in 1991 when Richard Bunton purchased a 3ha ‘hobby’ vineyard. As the world’s most southern wine region, it is exactly parallel to Burgundy, and produces award-winning Pinot Noir. Rugged mountain ranges and crystal clear lakes are renowned for leaving people breathless, but as Rockburn expanded, it soon became the wine. With strong varietal characteristics, the Pinot Noir has truly taken the stage in the most incredible way. Rivalling some of the most notable producers both in New Zealand and abroad, the philosophy behind Rockburn is to treat the fruit (and wine) as gently as possible, with minimum interference and maximum ease of use.
