Supernatural Wine Co. was founded in 2009 by Millar Road owner Gregory Collinge and joined by amazing winemaker Hayden Penny. Their philosophy relies on great terroir and traditional processes, with the aim to make all wines as naturally as possible in order to produce true terroir driven wines. They use indigenous yeast gathered from their vineyard for fermentation and nothing is added other than a little sulphur before bottling. Their Millar Road vineyard is quite unique covering 8.9ha of north-facing slopes, considering 90% of New Zealand vines are planted on flat land. Some of the slopes reach a 30’ angle with lime-rich clay and volcanic influences. These wines are natural, unfined, and true representations of the amazing terroir on which they’re grown.
